Project Manager
Are you a hands-on Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of technical projects from start to finish, and is just as comfortable on site as in the office? Join our client as a Project Manager in the North West.
Our client is an established technology business delivering audio visual and smart building solutions, from design and installation through to ongoing support. They work with a wide range of organisations across the UK and are currently in a period of growth. As part of this, they are looking for a Project Manager to join their delivery team.
The Role
This is a hands-on role rather than a desk-based one. You will take ownership of projects from handover through to completion and client sign-off. Depending on the size and complexity of each project, you will move between project management, coordination and on-site supervision, doing whatever is needed to make sure the project is delivered successfully. The role is hybrid, with regular travel to client sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
You will manage a number of projects at the same time, from smaller single-room installations through to larger, more complex projects with varying budgets and timescales. You will plan and resource each project, build and manage programmes, and allocate tasks to internal engineers and subcontractors based on their skills and experience. You will supervise installation teams on site through to completion, produce and distribute RAMS ahead of mobilisation, and act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear and regular updates. You will also identify technical, financial and operational risks, put mitigation plans in place and escalate where required, as well as supporting and mentoring junior project managers.
What We Are Looking For
You will have proven project management experience, ideally within a technical environment, and be confident managing several projects of different sizes at once. Experience in AV, technology or building services would be a real advantage, as would experience working on live construction sites. Familiarity with project management software and a formal qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM would be beneficial but are not essential. You will need to be willing to travel UK-wide, including occasional overnight stays.
