Technical Design Manager
If you're already the person the sales team relies on when a project gets technically challenging, this could be the opportunity to turn that expertise into a role with real influence.
We're working with a well-established and growing AV and UC integrator that delivers complex projects across corporate, education and public sector environments. As part of their continued growth, they're looking to create a new technical leadership position that will sit at the heart of the business.
The Role
This is more than a traditional pre-sales role. You'll become the go-to technical authority for complex projects, working closely with sales, operations and vendors to shape solutions, reduce risk and drive best practice across the business.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Take ownership of technical design sign-off for complex AV and UC projects, including Bills of Materials and Professional Services pricing.
- Help shape and improve project workflows, ensuring projects move smoothly from initial enquiry through to delivery.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to create new solutions and services that differentiate the business.
- Lead the development of a brand-new Managed Services offering, including documentation, pricing models, training materials and sales enablement.
- Support and mentor both internal teams and customers as a trusted technical expert.
Who we are looking for
You will have experience in a Pre-Sales, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant or Technical Design role within the AV integration sector.
You'll ideally bring:
- Industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms.
- Strong experience producing complex AV and UC system designs.
- A proven track record supporting bids, tenders and technical responses.
- Broad technical knowledge across AV control systems, video conferencing, unified communications, networking and signal distribution.
- Commercial awareness and confidence around solution pricing and project profitability.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility with both internal stakeholders and customers.
What makes this role stand out.
- It's a newly created position, giving you the chance to make the role your own.
- You'll have genuine influence over how projects are designed, priced and delivered.
- You'll play a key role in shaping the future technical direction of the business.
- You'll have the opportunity to build and launch a Managed Services proposition from the ground up.
- Your ideas will be heard, and you'll be trusted to make a real impact from day one.
If you're looking for a role where your technical expertise can genuinely influence the direction of a business, get in touch.
