Head of Video - Technical Manager
We're looking for a expert in live event video technology to join a global company in the Live Events and AV industry.
Our client is a global heavyweight in the Live Events and Audio-Visual industry, renowned for delivering world-class productions on an international scale. Boasting a global presence and access to state-of-the-art technology, they are looking for an industry expert to step into a pivotal, high-profile Head of Video / Technical Manager position.
The Role
The role suits a subject matter expert in live event video technology with a powerhouse technical background in large-venue AV. Sitting within the core Production function, you will act as the ultimate technical anchor. You will oversee everything from pre-event system design and technical drawings to on-site delivery, system troubleshooting, and post-show analysis. This is a highly collaborative role where you will project-manage large-scale event systems, interface with warehouse leads, and mentor the next generation of technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Planning & Design: Partner with Senior Project Managers and corporate clients to architect technical drawings, production plans, labor budgets, and equipment selection.
On-Site Leadership: Lead, test, and operate high-end video systems on-site, managing both internal and external crews while ensuring strict health and safety compliance.
Post-Show Management: Oversee final labor reconciliation, sub-rentals, and technical feedback reporting to maximize future profitability.
Team Development: Cultivate a high-performance culture by coaching, training, and upskilling technicians on company and industry standards.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: 5+ years of live, large-venue AV experience, with a proven expert-level skillset specifically within Video/AV disciplines.
Leadership: 2+ years of experience leading crews on-site.
Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
Skills: Advanced troubleshooting capabilities, sharp organizational skills, and exceptional client-facing communication.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 75% for project delivery.
